In short: Breathe Well does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. We don’t run servers that receive your data, and the app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. Your sessions and preferences stay on your device, and in your private iCloud account if you use iCloud.
1. Who we are
Breathe Well (listed on the App Store as Breathe Well Pro) is developed by DuttLabs, the independent studio of Dr. Shankar Dutt (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Breathe Well app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, its widgets and Siri/Shortcuts extensions (together, the “App”), and this website.
2. What we don’t collect
We do not collect, receive, or store:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account details (there is no account)
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
- Usage analytics, crash analytics from third-party SDKs, or browsing history
- Your breathing sessions, mood check-ins, or Health data
The App does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking code, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
3. Data stored on your device
To work, the App keeps the following on your device using Apple’s storage frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults):
- Session history: date, duration, technique, and any mood ratings or reflections you add
- Preferences: visual style, sounds, haptics, voice guidance, reminders, and favorites
- Progress: totals, streaks, XP, challenges, achievements, and program progress
- Custom techniques you create
Some usage counts (for example, how many sessions you’ve completed) are calculated locally to power in-app insights and the coach. They never leave your device except through your own iCloud sync.
4. iCloud sync
If you’re signed in to iCloud, session history and custom techniques sync across your devices through your private iCloud database (CloudKit). This is operated by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We cannot access your iCloud data.
5. Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional and off until you turn it on in Settings → Apple Health. With your permission, the App:
- Saves each completed session as Mindful Minutes (start time, end time, duration)
- Reads your Mindful Minutes totals so the App’s daily and weekly summary matches Health
The App accesses no other Health data types. Health data is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never sent to us. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app or in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
6. Apple Watch, widgets & Siri
The Apple Watch app exchanges sessions and settings with your iPhone directly using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. Widgets and Siri/Shortcuts read a small summary (such as your streak and minutes) from a shared container on your device. None of this is sent to external servers.
7. Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Smart Reminders learn from the times you usually practice, and that learning happens entirely on your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
8. Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. The App receives only a signed confirmation of what you are entitled to, which it checks on your device. We never receive your payment details or Apple Account information. Apple’s handling of purchase data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
9. This website
breathewell.duttlabs.app is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and GitHub may log standard request data (such as IP address) for security and operations under GitHub’s privacy statement.
10. Children
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It can be used without providing any personal information.
11. Your choices
- See your data: everything the App stores is visible in the App.
- Delete your data: use Settings → Reset All Data, or delete the App. Manage iCloud data in iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud.
- Stop sharing with Health: turn off Save Sessions to Health in the App or revoke access in the Health app.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on our side. You are welcome to contact us with any privacy question.
12. Changes & contact
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. For material changes we will also note it in the App’s release notes.
